Just Nudge has produced a number of innovative solutions for IBM Connections – IBM’s market leading social software platform – that integrate existing systems with IBM Connections to provide a seamless interface for users. In addition, we have developed a series of reusable widgets to implement common functionality into IBM Connections. These widgets include:
The IBM® Connections Profile Progress widget provides feedback on a profile’s maturity. This widget will encourage users to populate their profiles and collaborate more deeply with each other.
The widget also ships with a reporting component that provides information on the maturity of the IBM® Connections profiles across the installation.
The Update Manager widget allows a manager to update their direct reports. IBM® Connections generally expects the reporting structure of an organization to be provided by a Directory Server (i.e. Microsoft® Active Directory) or a common Human Resources system. This information is generally populated into connections using Tivoli® Directory Integrator. If it is available and accurate, it is the best source of reporting chain information; if not then this widget has been designed for you.
Some organizations have a Human Resources view of the reporting structure as well as an alternate view. This alternate view may be project or shift based but adding this information into IBM® Connections can be worthwhile. The Other Reports widget is designed to capture these relationships within IBM® Connections. It can be populated either top down (i.e. Manager → Employee) or bottom up (i.e. Employee → Manager) and allows for a many to many relationship (i.e. an Employee can have many Managers and a Manager can manage many Employees)
The Twitter Widget for IBM Connections is designed to allow a user to share their twitter feed from within their profile. The widget uses a profile extension to associate a user’s twitter feed with their profile. For a limited time only, this widget is available free of charge.
